This painting was definitely a change of technique for me. I normally use a textured base and then paint over the top, this one the texture is the finished product.

I had less room for error and experiment and the whole painting session my heart was nervous and excited for the possibilities.

I had to think quick in terms of placement and overall aesthetics.

Please note there is a little irregularity in the texture medium almost dead centre where the colour was not mixed properly.
