This painting was one of the hardest I’ve ever painted. I literally had about 6 different variations before an almost breakdown.

And it was because I had no direction - I just wanted action, I wanted it to be perfect without doing the thinking, planning or hard work.

This is painted over a previous oil panting so I had to use extra texture in an odd section of the painting, I should have done less and kept the sky larger for a better ratio.

Anyhow, this is the final version and I added imitation copper leaf to make the ‘waves’ stand out over the matte varnished texture.

The copper isn’t varnished so it may change over time.
