Tempest Light - Original Abstract Artwork

Continuing my "from the dark" series I wanted to try and capture the sky in an abstract way.
I was inspired by a photograph from Italian photographer Vieri Bottazzini, and originally I wanted to paint what he photographed; which was a beautiful deep blue sky and pink clouds.
However I quickly found out that my strong qualities is not realism but interpreting and creating imaginary worlds.
I then went back to the familiar style of dark areas and bringing the light out from it.

I hope this piece can resonate with you as it does to me.
